Besides the advancement awards and the Academics and Sports belt loops and pins, Cub Scouts may earn other individual awards. Set your sights on these:

Emergency Preparedness Award
  • The Emergency Preparedness Award is part of a BSA program of emphasis for Cub Scouts and Leaders, in cooperation with the Federal Department of Homeland Security.
  • Worn on left pocket flap of uniform shirt (as temporary emblem).
Leave No Trace Award
  • Leave No Trace is a plan that helps people to be more concerned about their environment and to help them protect it for future generations. Leave No Trace applies in a backyard or local park (frontcountry) as much as it does in the wilderness (backcountry).
  • Contact your Den Leader to earn this award.
  • Worn on right pocket of uniform shirt (as temporary emblem).
Outdoor Activity Award
  • Cubs may earn the award in each of the program years as long as the requirements are completed each year. The first time the award is earned, the boy will receive the pocket flap award. Each successive time the award is earned, a Wolf Track pin may be added to the flap. Leaders should encourage boys to build on skills and experiences from previous years when working on the award for a successive year.
  • Contact your Den Leader to earn this award.
  • Worn on right pocket flap of uniform shirt.
Physical Fitness Award
  • The Physical Fitness Award is part of a BSA program of emphasis for Cub Scouts and Leaders.
  • Worn on right pocket of uniform shirt (as temporary emblem).
Recruiter Patch
  • Earned by Cubs participating in a Pack Roundup event.
  • Worn below right pocket of uniform shirt.
Religious Emblem of Faith
  • All Cubs show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Cub by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem.
  • Worn above left pocket of uniform shirt.
Summertime Pin
  • Awarded to Cubs who participate in the three Summertime Pack events and can be earned yearly, although only one may be worn on the uniform.
  • All regularly-participating Cubs earn this award at the conclusion of the summer program (June through August).
  • Worn on right pocket flap of uniform shirt.
Whittling Chip
  • Typically earned by Cubs of Bear rank.
  • Worn on right pocket of uniform shirt (as temporary emblem).
World Conservation Award
  • The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual Cub Scouts to "think globally" and "act locally" to preserve and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources and that we are interdependent with our world environment. It can only be earned once.
